WHO
Canadian glass artist Fern
Jordan has long been captivated by the qualities of light and
intense, rich colour. Although she has used many different media—painting,
weaving, quiltmaking, needlework, knitting—nothing has excited or
inspired her as much as the art of creating with stained glass. Alive and
vibrant, with its thousands of colours and textures, glass is a wondrous
medium for the exploration and enhancement of light.
KIDS COME FIRST / BETWEEN FRIENDS: 12 of Fern's pieces were used to illustrate a collection of exquisite one-of-a-kind greeting cards designed for Kids Come First and Between Friends. Between Friends is a charitable organization initiated by Kids Come First Child Care Services in the York Region. Since 2000, Between Friends has been sending clothes, books, toys and household items to aboriginal communities in northern Ontario. Each of these cards is inspired by aboriginal art and reflects a native legend that corresponds to a character trait. If interested in purchasing a set of these notecards in support off Between Friends, please contact Kids Come First as follows:
